6th Annual Paper & Clay

Paper & Clay is a national juried exhibition open to all BFA & MFA printmaking and ceramic students across the country. This year’s exhibition showcases 54 exceptional contemporary student works from 20 various academic institutions. This year’s juror is printmaking artist and University of Minneapolis professor Jenny Schmid.

The reception for the exhibit is on Thursday, Feb 16, from 5 – 7 PM.

CBS News Broadcaster shares career advice

Mark Grant is a five-time Emmy Award-winning director, and 24-year veteran of CBS Sports. He covers NFL and college football, college basketball, and golf. He has covered sports in ten countries and in 48 states. Prior to CBS, he worked with ESPN for 11 years, where he covered nearly all the major events covered by the network. In addition to his Emmy Awards he has won three Awards for Cable Excellence, the highest honor for TV production in the cable television industry. Many could consider him a trailblazer because he was the first African-American TV director at both ESPN and CBS. Today, he is only one of a very few in all of sports television. In 2020, Grant directed the Los Angeles Chargers-Denver Broncos game on CBS alongside producer Kimani Morales, marking the first time that an NFL telecast was led by both an African-American producer and director. A 43-year veteran of the television industry, Mark got his start in local cable television, where he covered city council and school board meetings, high school sports, parades, and other events of community interest. Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is a parody. This comedy follows the escapades of a group of student wizards who have not been the hero of their own story.

Playwright Matt Cox describes these characters as "Funny, intelligent, silly, heartwarming, a little worn and slightly ignored."

It's time for the "losers" of this magic school to rise!
