College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Tenure & Promotion Ad Hoc Advisory Committee

Overview: In keeping with Policy 4004.7.2.4, the T&P Ad Hoc Advisory Committee is a non-voting body that the dean may choose to consult during the College-level evaluation of each tenure and/or promotion dossier. The committee does not make recommendations. Instead, the committee members may discuss the strengths and weaknesses of specific tenure and promotion cases in the college. These discussions can help inform the College’s letter that the dean crafts for each tenure and/or promotion case.

The dean will chair this committee. The associate dean for faculty success will also be a member of the committee. An ombudsperson will be present for any meeting of this committee.

Each member of the T&P Ad Hoc Advisory Committee:

  • Will be a tenured professor
  • Should have experience serving as TAC and PAC chairs and committee members
  • Will not be a department head
  • Will have their names published on the website in keeping with Policy 4004
  • Will be willing to set aside time in December or early January to meet to discuss any cases with the dean.
