Biography

Ryan Conger is a versatile musician, educator, audio engineer, and multimedia producer. He serves as an associate faculty member at Utah State University, where he has taught courses in Audio Technology, Live Sound, Post-Production, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Education. Ryan was instrumental in establishing and directing the new Audio Technology Certificate Program at the university. He also founded the Audio Technology-focused music program at Fast Forward High School, where he has been a full-time instructor since 2009. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music Technology from Southern Utah University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Utah State University.

Ryan has been an active performing musician for over 25 years, specializing in the Hammond organ, vintage and modern electromechanical keyboards, and synthesizers. He has performed and collaborated with a diverse range of renowned artists, including Motown legend Booker T, internationally acclaimed bluegrass artists The Kruger Brothers, jazz legend Joe McQueen, and many others. In his own work, Ryan often collaborates with musicians from around the globe, integrating elements from East Indian, Middle Eastern, and African musical traditions into his unique blend of jazz, electronic, and improvisational fusion.

As a live sound recording and Front-of-House engineer, Ryan has worked with a variety of acclaimed artists, including Booker T, The Kruger Brothers, and jazz icons such as Mike Stern, Melissa Aldana, and Dan Wilson.

Ryan’s recording, production, and performance work can be heard on several studio albums. His credits include From The Ashes (2025), Lessons (2022), and We’re Here (2018) with Talia Keys; The Legendary Joe McQueen Quartet (2014); Water (2017); and Imagination in Motion (2014) with Grits Green.
