He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Utah State University (2021), and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado (2024). While pursuing his graduate studies, he held a teaching assistantship in the UNC Jazz Studies department, where he provided private percussion/drumset instruction and directed small jazz ensembles. He also maintained an active performance schedule, collaborating with musicians throughout the greater Denver area, and appearing with a wide range of UNC ensembles—including big bands, vocal jazz groups, the Funk Lab Band, and small jazz combos.

Since returning to Salt Lake City, Trent remains active as a performer and educator, bringing his experience and creativity to both the stage and the classroom.
