Tyler Day is a senior in Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace Emphasis and is pursuing minors in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. Tyler is currently the Lead Payload Engineer for the GASRATS project and has spent three years on the GAS Team. Tyler is currently working on the design and fabrication of an inkjet-printed, optically transparent patch antenna. Throughout his time on the team, Tyler has led the design of a custom, low-cost thermal vacuum chamber for testing of the GASRATS payload along with the camera deployment system used on GASRATS to image the transparent patch antenna. Tyler’s favorite part of being on the GAS Team is the ability to work on something he is passionate about and to discover new passions. After graduation, Tyler hopes to become a systems engineer at NASA.
