This survey will provide stakeholders of the Logan Pride Foundation (LPF) with an idea of the effectiveness of the Logan Pride Festival and other events through Logan Pride. Through a mix of quantitative and open-ended questions, this project seeks to understand the experience and perception of attendees and volunteers to gain feedback and inform future programs. This project will also support other volunteer-based non-profits and grassroots organizations, as it will provide a valuable framework for evaluating their own festivals and events and thus enhancing future programs.

Background
Program evaluations have been used by organizations to assess the wants and needs of target populations and ensure that the mission is effectively serving clients. Feedback can be used to make changes to the organization structure and services provided, or to simply confirm that the organization is serving its intended purpose. There are few published program evaluations available for reference, and fewer still that are relevant to grassroots organizations. Without knowledge of conducting research or a clear reference point, creating a program evaluation that will provide valuable feedback can prove difficult to a volunteer-based organization who may be facing a lack of resources.
Project Details
The mission of LPF is to build a healthy and thriving LGBTQIA+ community by providing safe spaces, education, resources, and outreach (Logan Pride, n.d.). The evaluation aligns with this mission by asking questions about safety within the community and Pride House, satisfaction with current resources and events, and providing space for participants to express new desires and feedback. The survey was written in collaboration with LPF’s Board of Directors, utilizing their expertise and involvement with the community to ask effective questions. Findings and recommendations from the survey will be given to the Board of Directors to adjust programming and planning as needed.
The survey will utilize primarily a quantitative research design to discover specific ways to improve programming. Some open-ended questions are included to provide participants with a space for feedback not included in the survey.
