<bio>Originally from Wisconsin, I teach EAP, English for Academic Purposes, in the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at Utah State University, which offers courses in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cross-cultural communication. I often present at international conferences on topics related to second-language pedagogy and my research on campus climate, whiteness theory, and language ideology in Tanzania, where I worked as a Fulbright scholar. I earned a Ph.D. at the University of Utah, a master's in teaching ESL and Spanish from the School for International Training in Vermont, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I also teach in the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate program, and I serve as an associate style editor of <i>MEXTESOL Journal</i>.</bio>
