Brothers Grimm Center of North America

The Brothers Grimm Center of North America (BGCNA) is a live-work-learn laboratory, offering interested students of all disciplines internship opportunities designed to build professional portfolios. As a thematic hub for student engagement, the center provides a unique, welcoming environment on campus that fosters a sense of community and intellectual curiosity. It will also serve as an interdisciplinary meeting and learning space for students from various programs, faculty, and general visitors.

Mission

The mission of the BGCNA is to:

  • Support the mission of the Brothers Grimm Society of North America (BGSNA) by administering its activities, growing its membership, and disseminating scholarship.
  • Foster interdisciplinary research on the Brothers Grimm, Germanic philology, folklore, and fairy-tale studies.
  • Encourage scholarly exchange and collaboration in areas related to the German language, folklore, and literary traditions.
  • Host and support public lectures, academic events, such as lectures, symposia, conferences, cultural exhibits, and educational outreach programs focused on the Grimms' works and their global impact.
  • Exploring opportunities for publication, outreach, and educational programming highlighting the Grimms’ enduring influence on literature, education and the arts.

About the Brothers Grimm Society of North America (BGSNA)

The Brothers Grimm Society of North America (BGSNA) is a literary, nonprofit (501)(c)(3) public benefit organization, which was organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public purposes in the State of Florida on October 2, 2021. The purposes of the corporation are to encourage and promote the study and research of all aspects of the legacy and the spirit of the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, their works, their lives, their period, and the historic and contemporary dissemination of the Grimms’ fairy tales as well as their other texts.
