Deseret News Scholarship

$500

Undergraduate

Students majoring in Journalism and Communication with at least one year of higher education left will be selected by Deseret News Editors for full-time summer employment and a $500.00 cash award in addition to the scholarship money that will be applied towards tuition. Established by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Foundation on behalf of the Deseret News.

Undergraduate Graduate

This scholarship supports students in the Department of Communication and Media. Any area of emphasis, and actively engaged in the department.

Jay W. Glasmann Family Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

For students pursuing a career in journalism with strong academics, financial need, and leadership potential. Preference is given to applicants from Weber, Box Elder, Morgan, or Davis Counties.

Joseph A. "Andy" Hays Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Need-Based

Open to junior Journalism & Communication majors who demonstrate leadership, a 3.0+ GPA, and financial need. Priority may go to students from Indiana. Award funding is first applied to the Hays Family Endowment Lecture Series.

Journalism & Communication Scholarship

Undergraduate Need-Based

Open to undergraduate students who are majoring in Journalism & Communication who have demonstrated financial need.

Liberal Arts Scholarship

Undergraduate Need-Based

For Liberal Arts majors with a 2.5+ GPA and financial need, enrolled in at least 3 credits.

Mehdi Heravi Endowed Fellowship for Graduate Students in Communication Studies and Philosophy

Graduate Need-Based

For graduate students in the Department of Communication & Media with a minimum GPA of 3.5 with demonstrated financial need.

RMSWNATAS Broadcast Journalism Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Must be JCOM major. Demonstrated financial need. Applicants permanent address should reside in the regional area that is represented by RMSWNATAS Chapter (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and El Centro California.)

Robert A. Hatch Scholarship in Journalism and Communications

Undergraduate Graduate

Students majoring in print journalism or public relations with demonstrated capacity to make a positive difference in the world. (250 word statement).

Suzann Winn Scholarship

Undergraduate Seniors Need-Based

Undergraduates with Senior status. Minimum GPA of 3.5. Enrolled with at least 9 credits each semester and demonstrated financial need. Preference for students dedication and outstanding involvement in Communication Studies or Global Communication major.

The Raymond T. Coward and Andrea S. Coward Global Communication Endowed Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors

Applicants must be an academic major in Global Communication. Junior or Senior. Have a 3.0 or higher GPA in the major.
