
Kaylee Westhora
Co-Chair
Kaylee (Cheshire) Westhora was born in Layton Utah, where she lived until she made the decision to attend college at Utah State University. Kaylee graduated from Utah State in 2022 with a degree in Communication Studies and a Certificate in Conflict Management and Facilitation. Kaylee was part of the second cohort of students to receive this certificate and witnessed the official creation of the Heravi Peace Institute shortly after her own graduation.
After graduating, Kaylee worked for a few months as a seminary teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cache Valley, where she connected with another HPI Alumni, Daniel Westhora. The two of them were married early in 2025 and currently reside in Logan Utah.
Kaylee currently works for Utah State University as the Undergraduate Recruitment Specialist for the Quinney College of Agriculture & Natural Resources, where she’s able to use her communication skills to help high school and transfer students explore various programs of study at USU. In addition to work Kaylee enjoys volunteering as the Co-President of the HPI Alumni Association with her husband. She also enjoys volunteering with the women in her church congregation, doing puzzles, eating chocolate, journaling, reading a good book, watching football and going on adventures with friends and family.

Daniel Westhora
Co-Chair
Daniel graduated from Utah State University in 2024 with a degree in Communication Studies. During his undergrad, he was accepted into the Conversational Spacemaking program, volunteered as a Co-president of the Peacebuilding and Transformative Conflict Club, earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Conflict Management and Facilitation from the Heravi Peace Institute, and served on the first HPI Student Board. Shortly after graduating with his bachelors, he married a fellow HPI Alumni, Kaylee (Cheshire), and the two of them reside in Logan, UT.
Daniel currently works for Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse (CAPSA) as a Prevention Educator, visiting various schools and community groups in Cache Valley to teach youth about healthy relationships. In addition to the work he does at CAPSA, he is currently exploring a career in mediation, and is excited to further develop his skill sets in the field of conflict facilitation. He also loves cats.

Abby Wallentine
Secretary
Abby graduated in 2022 with a Comm Studies major, a Mental Health Advocacy minor and a certificate in Conflict Management. She is super excited to get involved with the HPI Alumni!!
Since graduation, Abby has been a staff assistant at USU (working with the HPI), a seminary teacher, and is now a full-time, overtime, all-the-time mom. She also has her 200 hour yoga teaching certificate. As a perfectionist in recovery Abby is obsessed with self compassion and it’s power to build peace. She hopes to become certified as a Mindful Self Compassion teacher soon! When she has the energy and motivation for hobbies she likes to read, practice yoga, have dance parties, and host cozy movie nights!

Sierra Benson Collett
Events Coordinator
Sierra Benson Collett (she/her) was born and raised on a farm in Idaho and graduated from Utah State University as a first-generation graduate with a BA degree in Communication Studies, with an Emphasis in Conflict Management & Facilitation and minors in Leadership and Spanish. She continued her education with a graduate certificate in Anticipatory Intelligence, a multi-domain approach to anticipating complex threats and opportunities emerging from the world's actors and factors in order to mitigate uncertainty and design resilient solutions.
Throughout her academic journey, Sierra attended leadership programs throughout the US and UK, spent a summer learning Spanish in Spain, and was heavily involved in student government and her college radio station. Sierra completed her Leadership and Performance Certificate through Brown University and is now credentialed as an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC). She currently works as a Virtual Leadership Institute program coordinator for Cultural Vistas, a program that teaches leadership, intercultural communication, and conflict transformation skills to emerging leaders aged 20-35 from developing countries. Through these experiences, Sierra developed a passion in leadership theory, social enterprise, conflict transformation, and planning events that foster inextricable human connection.

Cheyanne Maughan
Logan’s Event Coordinator
Cheyanne earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Utah State University in May 2024, along with a certificate in Conflict Management and Facilitation and a minor in American Sign Language. She currently works at USU as and Academic Advisor and is pursuing certification as a Peacemaker Coach through the Townsend Relationship Center. As an aspiring coach, Cheyanne is passionate about creating a non-judgmental space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. She deeply values meaningful conversations that invite authenticity, foster self-awareness, and support others in reaching their full potential. Her undergraduate experience with the HPI was profoundly transformative, and she’s excited to continue her journey as a member of the Alumni Association.

Tiff Nord
Outreach and Communications Specialist
Tiff, otherwise known from the conflict program as Nord (she/her) graduated from USU in Fall 2022 with a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Studies, Minor in Sociology, and a Certificate of Proficiency in Conflict Management and Facilitation. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Communication Studies at University of Montana. Her thesis aims to define safe spaces from a layman's perspective as she is passionate in learning how to create them in interpersonal and group settings. Tiff is excited to help create safe spaces for this community and hopes to inspire willingness and change through the outreach and community efforts upcoming for this organization.
