Amanda Lilly

Biography

Amanda is an interpersonal communication scholar who focuses on researching sexual communication in online contexts. Her research primarily focuses on relational development through initiation messages that contain sexual content and how these messages are perceived by their recipients. She plans to extend this work to examine motivations behind why people choose to use initiation messages that contain sexual content and how dyads use computer-mediated communication to discuss sexual topics. She is primarily uses quantitative methods but does utilize qualitative research to conduct exploratory projects.
