My research explores how communication, technology, and accessibility shape users' experiences across educational and workplace contexts. I am particularly interested in inclusive design, digital accessibility, user experience (UX), plain language, and technical communication pedagogy. My current work examines how communication practices can better support international students, improve accessibility in higher education, and prepare students for professional communication through collaborative learning. Drawing on my background in human resources and education, I am interested in research that bridges theory and practice to create more inclusive and user-centered communication. Outside of research, I enjoy mentoring students, faith-based writing, and exploring ways to make complex information more accessible to diverse audiences.

My research focus is at the intersection of Technical and Professional Communication (TPC), Online Learning, and trauma-informed principles (TIP). I address the issue of trauma in TPC courses as well as TPC students dealing with trauma and how learning through an online modality complicates trauma-inflicted students' academic success. I seek solutions through incorporating TIP in TPC educators' pedagogy.

I study digital communication technologies and how design decisions shape the creation, accessibility, and dissemination of products and services. My research uses inclusive, user-centered, and human-centered design approaches to examine how digital systems support communication across diverse cultural and linguistic contexts. Currently, my research focuses on assistive technologies, user experience (UX), social media, and content management systems, with the goal of improving the accessibility and inclusivity of digital communication.
