Biography
John D. Barton is an emeritus principal lecturer for the History Department at USU, having served at the Uintah Basin location, where he taught since 1988. He taught U.S., Utah, Western, and Native American history in both traditional and online settings. Key publications include Upon the Shoulders of Giants: A Brief History of Utah State University’s Regional Campus System, 2016, and "Reflections on Thirty Years of Teaching for Utah State University Distance Education" in Journal on Empowering Teaching Excellence, 2018. His chapter “The Evolution of Distance Education at Utah State University” is published in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Distance Teaching: Connecting Classrooms in Theory and Practice.
