How to Apply
Students may apply for scholarships offered through the Department of History, Cultures & Ideas by going to Utah State University's Scholarship Online Application site. This portal enables students apply to all relevant scholarships across the University.
- Brett E. Blanch Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to an outstanding junior in philosophy. Student must be an academic major in philosophy, show a minimum of 9 upper division credits toward a philosophy major (taken at USU), and have a 3.5 or higher GPA in the major.
- Brett and Josh Chambers Award: Provided by Harris, Preston & Chambers, LLP. Awarded to an outstanding student in philosophy. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and the essay should include how philosophy and the study of ethics apply to their career plans (or life).
- Thain Scholarship: Scholarship endowment in memory of Aldyth Thain. Awarded to high school seniors enrolling at USU who have at least a 3.5 GPA. Recipient must matriculate in a philosophy or language course.
- Mehdi Heravi Endowed Scholarship for Philosophy: Provided by Mehdi Heravi. Awarded to a student in financial need. Student must be an academic major in philosophy and have a 3.0 or higher GPA in the major.
