Biography

Maliha Anjum is a graduate student pursuing her Master of Science in Sociology, where she works as a Graduate Research Assistant with an emphasis on environmental justice , under the guidance of Dr. Stacia Ryder. Originally from Bangladesh, Maliha brings a unique academic background to her current work. She completed her Bachelor's and master's in literature, where her engagement with stories, narratives, and cultural perspectives first sparked a deep interest in environmental issues. This academic foundation continues to influence her approach to research, where she sees the value of bridging humanities and social sciences to address pressing environmental challenges. Her research interests center on environmental justice, with a particular focus on supporting marginalized communities and protecting vulnerable ecosystems. Looking ahead, Maliha aspires to pursue a career in research dedicated to advancing equity and resilience work that she hopes will create meaningful change for both people and the environment.
