Azure can't believe its the end of the year already. Their experience at USU Eastern has been one they'll never forget. Theatre has been their biggest passion all throughout high school and they're so excited to pursue it through college. Duncan Clark is a 23 year old sophomore at USU Eastern. He is studying to get his associates in generals. But he has a great passion for theater and storytelling. Drawing and writing are two of his favorite hobbies. Duncan is also a good impressionist and loves to do voices. He has great aspirations to break into the entertainment industry and create the next big thing! But he is patient and doing it one day at a time.

Sarah's love for musical theatre runs deep, and after many years onstage, some of her favorite roles include Irene in Crazy for You, Sarah in Guys and Dolls, and Mayzie in Seussical the Musical. She is grateful to her amazing family for wrangling her little T‐Rex, making it possible for her to be a part of this fantastic show.

Zoe is a senior at Carbon Highschool. Zoe is so excited to be in SpongeBob because it was one of her favorite childhood shows!

Jason Olsen is an Associate Professor English at Utah State University who teaches writing and literature. His creative and academic work have been widely published. He last appeared on the USU Eastern stage in as the friar in Romeo and Juliet.

I am a freshman at USUE, and a proud lifelong performer. I've been performing since I was just a baby, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Veronica works full time for USU Eastern's Mining department. She's a proud mother of two and was encouraged by her lovely husband to participate in this production. She wants to thank him for all his support.

Alasen was last seen on the USU Eastern stage as the screaming fan girl in Something Rotten. Alasen is so disappointed to NOT be studying theatre at Eastern next year, she is going to take time off after graduating from Carbon High to learn the art of hot oil ninjanering from the secretive local sect of fry cooks in trade for teaching them how to dance.

Tate Olsen is a fifth grader who loves cats and building things. He has appeared in multiple plays including USU Eastern's production of Romeo and Juliet, Eighties & Aliens, Treasure Island, and The Dancing Princesses.

Alexis (Lexi) Anderson is an 8th grader at Helper Middle School. She has been involved in theatre since 2017 and has performed in 6 shows at middle school but this is the first musical she has been in. Her favorite parts of the play are the fun dances and choreography and the jellyfish.

Amanda Barfuss
Choreographer
Amanda Barfuss, a high school dance instructor with 15 years of choreography experience and 30 years of dance training, brings vibrant, dance-driven storytelling to SpongeBob the Musical. Her work highlights hip hop influences, country line dance, and energetic group numbers. She has previously choreographed Something Rotten! and Ride the Cyclone for USU Eastern Theatre.
Ellie Smith

Ellie (deMie) has helping with costuming at USUE for over 13 years. Helping and creating so many fun and inspiring costumes. Its been so much fun to work with so many students staff and community members over the years.
Scyler Smith
Hair and Makeup
Scyler Smith has been doing makeup and wigs for shows for over 12 years. She is a trained special effects makeup artist. She started with USU Eastern back in 2010 in the production of Sweeney Todd and fell in love with the program. Now she is designing wigs and makeup for such a fun show that all goes back to the beginning of her journey with USU Eastern.

This is my 17th show at Eastern. Through this program I have found my love and passion for theater. Without Eastern I would never have had the opportunities to learn so many things, be trusted with paint designing several shows, as well as finding out what I want to do in the future; Stage Management. This program has meant everything to me and I'm beyond honored to end it with SpongeBob. Thank you for being here, thank you for the support all these years and please enjoy the show!

This is T'Kiah's 6th show at Eastern, but her first behind the scenes here. She is a nursing student completing her LPN this year, and will be moving on to her RN in the fall.
Marcellus Anthony
Costume Designer
Marcellus did costumes for this production of SpongeBob and learned a lot of new things from it. It is their second year at USUE and they will be getting their associates degree in May. They are so grateful for the experiences that they have gotten from this program and its opportunities. Marcellus has done costume work for Lend Me a Tenor, Romeo and Juliet, 12 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse and Ride the Cyclone at USUE before this. Marcellus is so sad to see the program come to an end, even though they've been at the University for a short time the program has made a lasting impact on their life. They want to thank Brent Innes for all his support through thick and thin in this program and being a good mentor. Marcellus will now be up at the Logan campus.

Shop Dog and Emotional Support
This is Timbit's 7th year at USU Eastern, and has made more than one stage appearance, we'll see if she makes one during this production. She loves to be with her emotional support human, and her many friends here. She loves the attention she gets from all the students and is especially good at sniffing out and begging for treats and handouts.

Brent has been wearing all the hats at Eastern now for almost 14 years and has absolutely loved being here. The campus, the community, the friends, and the students here have made Eastern home and it's going to be hard to say goodbye in a few short weeks. He hopes that he has made a difference and an impact during his time here. Thank you for your support, thank you for your friendship, thank you for the experience.
Steven Nielsen
Director, Choreographer
Steven Nielsen is beyond excited to be directing SpongeBob the Musical. He is so grateful for Brent Innes, the cast and crew for believing in and trusting him with his vision and the very last production here at Utah State University Eastern.
Steven is a graduate from Carbon High School and Southern Utah University. He has traveled the world as a professional dancer, actor, director, teacher, coach, adjudicator and choreographer. He has performed in film, television and on the biggest stages worldwide.
He was the original Dance Coach for Cirque du Soleil's, The Beatles LOVE at the Mirage Casino/ Resort in Las Vegas, He just returned to Utah after opening the number one rated show in Nashville, Tennessee, SHINERS.
Steven has been selected as Utah's 2026 choreographer of the year by UDEO. He is blessed to be doing what he is most passionate about and hopes that he has inspired everyone that he has had the pleasure of working with in this spectacular production. "Love you, Mean it!"
