Student Projects
Edith Mae - Historical Home Remodel
This remodel project breathes new life into a beloved family home, originally built in the early 1900s by one of Cokeville, Wyoming’s first settlers, John Bourne. With deep generational roots and a rich legacy, the design honors the past while adapting the space for modern living. Drawing from original photographs, heirloom furnishings, and firsthand family memories, the home has been thoughtfully restored to reflect its historical significance without compromising functionality or comfort. Careful attention was given to preserving key architectural elements such as original door hardware, millwork, and cabinetry—while updating the kitchen, bathrooms, and floorplan to suit today’s lifestyle. Vintage-inspired materials and finishes, such as toile wallpaper, antique brass fixtures, and period lighting, blend seamlessly with new stone countertops, integrated appliances, and thoughtfully reimagined layouts. Throughout the home, cherished family portraits, artwork, and furnishings reinforce a sense of continuity and storytelling. The master suite, kitchen, and living areas offer both warmth and elegance, using traditional craftsmanship and curated textures to create a space that feels timeless, rooted, and distinctly personal.
Frozen Fill Up - Retro Gas Station Into Neon Ice Cream Dream
FROZEN FILL UP is an ice cream shop designed inside a restored Sinclair gas station, seamlessly blending its historic roots with a playful, modern twist. The name, Frozen Fill Up, pays homage to the building’s original purpose—“Frozen” representing the ice cream and “Fill Up” nodding to the gas station’s past. This connection extends through the branding, featuring a cute pink dinosaur mascot, reminiscent of the iconic Sinclair dinosaur, and a menu filled with dinosaur-themed ice cream flavors. The shop’s design brings this theme to life with bright neon colors, terrazzo floors that resemble sprinkles, arched doorways, and gold accents, creating a space that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Every detail—from the ice cream-shaped counter to the curated lighting and signage—is crafted to make Frozen Fill Up an immersive, joyful experience that honors its past while delighting guests in the present.

Tenku Aviation - Luxury Fixed Base Operation
Tucked into one of Japan’s busiest and most refined aviation hubs, this FBO was designed to offer more than just a place to land, it’s a place to breathe, to reset, and to experience beauty in motion. Inspired by the elegance of Japanese culture, the architecture takes cues from the crane, a symbol of grace and longevity, translating its form into the sweeping curves of the roof and the natural flow of the floorplan. Inside, the space feels calm and grounded. Materials like shou sugi ban, stone, and bamboo bring a sense of warmth and tradition, while glass walls, soft lighting, and sculptural details add a clean, modern edge. A quiet zen garden and curated artwork invite travelers to slow down, even if just for a moment. This FBO isn’t just about getting from one place to another, it’s about how you feel along the way. Thoughtful, serene, and beautifully crafted, it’s where hospitality and design come together in flight.
