ACS-Hach Land Grant Pass-Through Scholarship

Undergraduate Need-Based

Full-time undergraduate with a declared major in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Commitment to become a high school chemistry teacher upon graduation. Overall GPA 3.0 or greater, demonstrate financial need, and be a legal permanent resident or citizen of the U.S.A. Scholarship recipients must agree to submit a brief annual written statement to the donor describing their career status for the first five years following the recipients' graduation. This scholarship may be renewed for up to six years if the eligibility requirements are met.

C.T. Hirst Legacy Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors

Intended to pay towards tuition and fees for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Preference will be given to first-generation students and to veterans.

Chemistry & Biochemistry Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate

Students majoring in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Graduate First-Years Need-Based

Recipient must be a graduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences in their first year with financial need and scholastic achievement.

Dr. William Moore Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate

Graduates or undergraduates in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Preference will be given to students studying physical chemistry.

Garth and Lila Lee Scholarship

Undergraduate Need-Based

Undergraduate students in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. To qualify, students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, measured by having a 3.5+ overall most recent GPA.

George H. and Billie Bush Emert Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Need-Based

Juniors who are pursuing a degree in Biochemistry. Students will be chosen on the basis of financial need and academic achievement (3.0+ Cumulative GPA).

Jim and Carolyn Stahl Scholarship

Graduate

Open to Chemistry and Biochemistry graduate students to support tuition, stipends, research equipment, or other project-related costs.

Maeser-Bauer Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors

For undergraduate juniors or seniors in the Department of Chemistry who have completed the Physical Chemistry series and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Maeser-Bauer Teaching Assistantship Award

Undergraduate Graduate

For undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated for this award for outstanding performance as a teaching assistant in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Marjorie H. Gardner Teaching Award

Undergraduate Graduate

This scholarship recognizes outstanding teaching assistants in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry near the end of the academic year, based on faculty nominations and written recommendations.

Stephen E. Bialkowski Environmental Chemistry Award

Undergraduate

Undergraduate in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry who is in good standing. This award is to fund the completion of a specific environmental chemistry project as proposed by the applicant within the research proposal application. Recipients are expected to work with a faculty advisor to identify and complete the project in one academic year. The student must submit a written and/or oral report to their faculty advisor upon completion of their project. It is anticipated that initially, students receiving the award will request approximately $750 for the project, and will receive approximately $250 upon successful completion of the report.

Thomas F. Emery Scholarship

Graduate Final Year Need-Based

Graduate students studying biochemistry within the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Recipients will be entering their final year of their program, and they will demonstrate finanical need and academic achievement (3.0+ Overall Cumulative GPA).

Thomas M. Farley Scholarship

Undergraduate

Students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement as a major within the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department. Recipients will also receive a copy of the Handbook of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
