Undergraduate Need-Based

Awarded to an undergraduate in the Department of History, Cultures, and Ideas. Specifically for non-traditional students with high academic records and financial need.

Undergraduate

Scholarship to support undergraduates students traveling to Greece or Italy for classic-related summer programs or to provide tuition and fee scholarship. Students must have taken or will be taking Greek and Latin and returning to Utah State University the following academic year.

Must be an undergraduate student majoring in History. Preference given to those providing service to the History Department.

Undergraduate writing award in Mormon History. Applicants must submit at least 2500 word paper addressing any topic in Mormon History. Papers focused on contemporary Mormon culture, or in disciplines outside history, will not be considered. Undergraduates in good standing.

For undergraduate history majors with an interest in American history. Scholarship is intended to help with tuition and fees for two semesters.

Undergraduate Graduate

Established to support professional fieldwork with the Idaho Commision on the Arts, regional fieldwork or event based internships with organizations such as Utah Folk Arts Program.

Supports students majoring in History, History Teaching, or Religious Studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference given to students with the highest total number of credits towards completion.

For undergraduate Classics students with a 3.0+ GPA and financial need. Funds may support scholarships, travel, or other program-related needs.

Graduate Need-Based

For enrolled graduate students in the Department of History, Cultures & Ideas, with minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrated financial need.

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Funding for international study abroad experiences for students in history and religious studes. Applicants majoring in history or religious students. Minimum GPA of 3.0 and financial need.

Undergraduate Graduate

Grads or undergrads with a record of participation in the Latin Lab for at least two semesters, A deep understanding of how the Latin Lab works, and an intersection between the Latin Lab and their research agenda. Students may serve as a Norm Jones Latin Scholar for only one semester, with a preference given to students with seniority.

Funding for students in the Department of History, Cultures, and Ideas with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Undergraduate Juniors Graduate First-Years

High achieving undergraduate history majors or history graduate student. Must have demonstrated an interest in Asian history and/or Asian Studies. Undergraduates students who are juniors, a declared major or minor in Asian Studies or three completed courses in Asian history constitute proof of interest. Graduate students finishing their first year, a thesis topic on some aspect of Asian history constitutes proof of interest. Students shall complete an application and write a short essay (250 words) on their planned use of the scholarship to further their interests in Asian history.

Must be an undergraduate Religious Studies major. Must have completed or are currently enrolled in two Religious Studies courses.

Preference for undergraduates who demonstrate an interest in Civil Rights, Black History, Mormon History, history of the Mountain West, or the intersection of these topics. Applicants asked to submit short essay to demonstrate their interest.

Unrestricted scope but primarily to assist with research support, operationaly support, expert speaker, and student stipends as needed.

Cash Award no less than $500 to graduating UG history majors. Committee chosen outstanding capstone paper in HIST 4990 or equivalent.

Undergraduate Graduate

Award for students who successfully complete the Intensive Summer Greek Program. "Successful completion" determined by the program instructor. Donor requests that all success students be evenly awarded.

Undergraduate Graduate

History students. Submit 1500-2500 word essay on some aspect of the history of Cache Valley. Subjects dealing with early development, settlement, and other historical aspects of Cache Valley, Utah.
