Auditions

General Auditions

Thursday, March 19 from 4pm-6pm

All students are encouraged to audition. You will need to sign up for an audition slot. The sign-up sheet is downstairs in the Fine Arts Center on the callboard under general department information. Please sign up at the earliest available time and try to not leave gaps between audition times.

All BFA Acting and BFA MT students: auditions for the BFA acting and musical theatre students will be during lab on Friday, March 20 from 10:30am-12:20pm. BFA acting and MT students do not have to sign up for an audition time - a time will be assigned to you, and the schedule will be posted and shared ahead of auditions. Freshman-juniors should fill out a jury form and an audition form. Seniors do not need to fill out an audition form but should fill out a jury form. Jury form to be sent separately.

Please arrive 30 minutes early to your time slot as auditions tend to run ahead of schedule.

Auditions

General auditions and callbacks will be in the dance studio (FAC 136), Lab auditions will be in the Morgan (FAC 155).

For auditions, the directors request one monologue and a 16-bar cut:

• 16-bar cut in the style of She Loves Me
  45-60 second monologue. Use any material, make big, bold choices

There will be an accompanist (collaborative artist), or students can bring their own accompanying track to plug into the speaker we have (iPhone and Android adapters available).

Total audition package, including entrance, conference with accompanist (collaborative artist), slate, pieces, thank you, and exit should not exceed 2 minutes. Auditions will be timed. Stage management will handle traffic flow on the day of Lab auditions.
