Meet Emma Lovan! (she/her)
Emma Lovan is a Sophomore earning her BFA in Costume Design.
“When art calls, it’s important to listen. While it is technically an art, ask any stitcher and they will tell you that creating a wearable, three-dimensional object from a flat pattern is more of a feat in engineering than a creative action.
Sure, you have to get creative when designing your costumes or problem solving your patterns, but there is a science to costuming. There’s a science to most areas of theatre, and I love exploring that science through my studies.
I will be designing “The Boy at the Edge of Everything” this year. My most recent project was costuming “The Wind in the Willows” for a local children’s theatre.”
After graduation, Emma would like to “travel, travel, travel.”
“There’s so much world to be seen and things to be learned.”
Fun Fact: “I got a German Shephard puppy over the summer. His name is Titus and I will talk your ear off about him.“
