Meet Raquel Leonard!

Raquel is a Freshman in the BA program. Asked why she chose theatre, Raquel said,

"In 6th grade, my class did Hamlet, and I just fell in love with acting. I love being able to step into a character and bring them to life. It also gives me the chance to 'forget' about myself for a little bit and be someone else.

I have also loved to sing since a very young age and when I was able to combine my two favorite things I knew that I found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life."

Raquel hopes to go on and do theatre professionally, after graduation, and make it to Broadway.

"The advice I would leave behind is to be confident in yourself. Do not compare yourself to others in the room because the way you are different from them is what makes you special."
