Gibby Endowment in French Studies

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Applicant shall have a declared major in French or French Teaching, or a declared minor in French with a minimum GPA of 3.50. Additional academic merit may be used at the discretion of the selection committee. Financial need is a secondary consideration.

IELI Residential Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Supports students who are enrolled in at least 10 credits of classes in the Intensive English Language Institute who have demonstrated financial need. Recipients must have a maintained C grade average or greater.

Osamu Fujiwara Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate

Completion of all of level 4 in IELI, accepted into an undergraduate major, plan to obtain a bachelor's degree at USU, GPA of 3.0

Sylvan Eugene Needham, III, Study Abroad Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors Graduate

Students in the Department of World Languages and Cultures undertaking a study abroad program. Pursuing a major in Language other than English, Global Communications, Similar degree program that involves the study of other cultures. A junior, senior, or graduate student undertaking a USU sponsored or independent study abroad program.

The Jean Inness Scholarship Endowment in French

Undergraduate Graduate

Outstanding upper division or graduate student studying French. If There is no candidate, an outstanding student In Spanish may be awarded. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average and maintain that average while receiving the scholarship. Applicants must carry at least twelve hours per semester for UG and 6 for GR.

Timothy D. Steinitz Memorial Scholarship in French Studies Abroad

Undergraduate

Intended to provide two areas of support to declared undergraduate French majors continuing their studies in French. They should demonstrate academic promise with a strong interest in exploring French, a language and culture. Alternated every two years between scholarship for study abroad and support for professional development.

World Languages & Cultures Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Current major in World Languages and Cultures. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with financial need.
