Art Heers

Biography
Art attended Stanford University from 1962 to 1968, where he received a BS and MS degree in Electrical Engineering, and where he met his wife, Mary Heers, in a folk dancing class. In 1981 his family moved to Logan where Art began work with Campbell Scientific, then a small start-up company that was inventing the first "smart" and rugged measuring and recording instrumentation that would be deployed from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Art views the Campbell Scientific instrumentation that he helped engineer as a contribution to the world, but also Campbell Scientific has been the source of Art and Mary's contributions over the years to Utah State University. Besides working Art loves the mountains surrounding Cache Valley, skiing, and hiking, and has run marathons and biked the Logan to Jackson race 9 times.
