Lyle Hillyard

Biography
Lyle Hillyard has practiced law for over 40 years, specializing in family law, criminal defense, and mediation. He served in the Utah State Legislature for more than three decades, including roles as Senate Majority Leader and President of the Senate. A dedicated public servant, Lyle co-chaired the Joint Executive Appropriations Committee and served as a Utah Commissioner for Uniform State Laws.
Lyle earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Utah State University and his law degree from the University of Utah. Over his career, he has received numerous accolades, including the Cache Chamber of Commerce Total Citizen of the Year Award and the Distinguished Legislator Award from the Utah Trial Lawyers Association. A devoted community leader, Lyle is a Silver Beaver recipient from the Boy Scouts of America and a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Lyle and his wife Alice have five children.
