Newel & Jean Daines Concert Hall

Formerly The Kent Concert Hall, the new Newel and Jean Daines Concert Hall opened during the 50th Anniversary Gala of the Chase Fine Arts Center on October 18, 2017. Seating capacity is over 1,700—including an audience-facing choir loft to the rear of the stage, and raised loge seating sections on both sides of the orchestra level seats. For most events, patrons may fill the three orchestra sections and five balcony sections.

The Daines Concert Hall is most specifically designed for orchestra, band and choral programs. The standard lighting and sound layouts have been designed around providing support for such events.

It also features the newly restored Campbell-Holtkamp Organ, made possible through the generous donations of Paul and Paulette Campbell. USU is one of the few institutions of higher education to have such an instrument, and the restoration of the pipes to their original purity, in addition to technological upgrades to the console and wiring, makes the Campbell-Holtkamp Organ one of the crowning jewels of this space.
