Campus-Wide Disposable Glove Recycling Program
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers a campus-wide disposable nitrile glove recycling program. Spearheaded by the Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Student Council, this initiative empowers USU students, faculty and staff to reduce lab and workplace waste by recycling used gloves through a partnership with TerraCycle.
The department has set an ambitious goal to collect 3,000 pounds of gloves over the next three years (2025-2028). With clearly marked glove recycling bins now available in labs and worksites throughout campus, participants have a simple and impactful way to support a more environmentally conscious campus.
