Study Abroad Scholarships

The English Department has a limited number of non-qualified scholarships to support declared English majors who have enrolled or will enroll in USU-approved, credit-bearing study abroad programs. English majors who enroll in full semester programs are eligible for up to $1,000 in scholarship funding.  English majors who enroll in shorter programs (such as summer study abroad trips) are eligible for up to $500 in scholarship funding.

These awards are separate from the department's Student Opportunity Awards, which can also support study abroad opportunities.  An English major can apply for both to support the same study abroad program.

If funding is approved, you will be asked to provide documentation of your enrollment when that becomes available. The non-qualified scholarship will be deposited to your student account two weeks before the start date of the program.
