Biography

Dallas K Aksoy (née Heaton), presumed to be the first of her name, is passionate about many things. Professional bio writing is not one of those things. Being an agent of beauty in the world, however, is something that she adores.

Professionally, Dallas does this through a combination of theatrical production, collaborative pianism, and classroom teaching. The majority of these endeavors happen in Logan, Utah, through her appointment at Utah State University as the Opera Theatre Director and her regular work with Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre as a music director and collaborative pianist. While Dallas possesses a great appreciation for mathematics and scientific inquiry, she has been drawn to the arts since she was young and is profoundly grateful that life has afforded her many opportunities to spend her time thus engaged. She wishes to acknowledge and thank the many individuals that have been instrumental in this and that have helped her refine her ability to edify, strengthen, soothe, inspire, and connect with others through the arts. Personally, Dallas’s interests are more expansive, including animals, knitting, linguistics, gaming, traveling, history, and learning anything. She loves her partner, her children, her dogs, her plants, milk, cheese, and beautiful Cache Valley. She values critical thinking, clarity, efficiency, responsibility, and hard work, and intends to leave her surroundings better than she found them.
