Jennifer Birchell

Biography

Jennifer M. Birchell is a Nationally Board-Certified Music Therapist through the Certification Board of Music Therapy and a professional member of the American Music Therapy Association. Jennifer graduated from USU in 1996 with a BS in Music Therapy and interned with the Forbes Medical System in Pittsburgh PA. Upon returning, Jennifer began working for the Sunshine Terrace Foundation in Logan, UT, offering USU Music Therapy students field practicum site experience as adjunct faculty and was able to add a National Roster Music Therapy Internship in 1999. Jennifer continued her education by certifying in Neurologic Music Therapy- specializing in techniques of neurologic and physical rehabilitation, which she incorporates into her daily work with the patients of the Sunshine Terrace Rehabilitation Center. She is also trained in Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy and holds dual licensure as a Recreation Therapy Technician for the State of Utah. Jennifer regularly guest lectures for many groups including Alzheimer’s Support groups in Cache and Box Elder Counties, Parkinson’s Support Group, Caregiver’s Support groups, The Ogden Surgical/Medical Society, and various wellness courses at the Logan and Brigham City Senior Centers. She is married and lives on a small farm with her husband and one daughter.
