Lindsay Killian

Biography

Lindsay Robison Killian, soprano, received the highest award, Grand National winner, at the year 2000 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions competition, an event universally recognized as the "Olympics" of the opera world. The BYU alumna earned a B.M. in Oboe and Vocal Performance and a M.M. in Vocal Performance, and it was during her Master's work (under the tutelage of her father, BYU Director of Opera Clayne Robison, and her mother, Vivien, BYU adjunct music professor) that she was induced to enter the Met competition. She later earned an additional M.M. from Ariz. State Univ. Among operatic engagements, Ms. Killian has taken the Washington East Opera stage as Violetta (La traviata). Oratorio engagements have included soloist in Robert Cundick's The Redeemer, with the Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony, Mendelssohn's Elijah, with the Apollo Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in Chicago and with Millennial Choirs and Orchestra. With her baritone father, she soloed with the Utah Valley Symphony and with the Cheyenne Symphony in productions of Verdi's Requiem.
