Biography

Tenor Andrew Taylor graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Vocal Performance and earned his master's degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder. His performance experience spans both musical theatre and classical repertoire, with recent roles such as Tony in Bernstein’s West Side Story and Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.

Andrew is passionate about vocal pedagogy and voice health. In his master's thesis research, he analyzed and compared musical theatre technique to classical technique in an effort to challenge long-held misconceptions about vocal health implications of belt technique. He is also passionate about performance preparation, visualization, and helping students reframe their mindset to performance. As a voice faculty associate at Utah State University, Andrew strives to provide tools to his students to help them become well-rounded singers by focusing on fundamental singing techniques, mindset and performance preparation practices, and vocal hygiene strategies. Andrew currently resides in Logan, UT. When he is not singing or teaching, he enjoys playing electric guitar, woodworking, and watching horror movies.
