Music Scholarships

Undergraduate Graduate

Candidates must be music students in the Caine School of the Arts. Eligible recipients shall be undergraduate or graduate students.

Graduate

Supports a Master of Music (MM) student in Conducting, with a specialization in Choral Conducting.

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

To offset the cost of additional music lessons required by their course study. Selection based on academic performance and need.

Undergraduate Graduate

Recipient shall be a choral education major. Payable for tuition, fees, living expenses, books, lessons, etc. Recipient shall maintain appropriate GPA. Selection based on an audition and/or interview.

Undergraduate Graduate

Students to be nominated by the director of the Opera Theater Program. Recipients should demonstrate academic achievement. Intended to recognize students who, through their generosity, sharing of talents, community service and demonstrated supportive attitude to teachers and peers.

For a graduate or undergraduate majoring in percussion (pre-music, pre-barrier, or music major). Full time with minimum GPA of 3.0.

Undergraduate Sophomore Need-Based

Recipients should be sophomore, junior, or senior students majoring in music with a piano pedagogy emphasis. A minimum GPA of 3.3 and demonstration of financial need are required.

Undergraduate Graduate

Support students for the cost of individual singing instructions from a faculty member of the Vocal Performance program. Students must be full time. No GPA requirement. Funds are are NOT intended for tuition or student fees that aren't directly related to individual vocal instruction. Preference to students who also perform in a USU choir within Choral Activities.

Undergraduate Graduate

Recipients will be choral students, as determined by the Director of Choral Activities, who are or will be enrolled in university-designated ensembles. Preference will be given to students with a bass singing voice. The awards may be given to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Music major who primary instrument is piano. Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0. Must demonstrate experience and excellence in piano teaching in the USU Youth Conservatory. Preferece for active membership in the Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA) and participate in USU collegiate chapter activities.

Undergraduate Juniors

A rising student in the Music Department.Recipients shall be outstanding students majoring in Music who are juniors in rank. The choice of a recipient will be guided solely by consideration of excellence and without regard to race or sex. Audition is required.

Candidates may be sophomore, junior, or senior student, having a 3.0 or better GPA, showing potential for success in string music education, and demonstrating financial need.

Supports the Kids in Konzert series, which is administered jointly by the Youth Conservatory and the Piano Program of the Music Department of Utah State University. Scholarship is for piano students that teach for the Youth Conservatory.

Undergraduate Sophomore

Supports string students who are members of the USU Symphony Orchestra. Should be Sophmore, Junior, or Seniors. First preference for viola players. Second preference for non-violin players.

Undergraduate Sophomore

Students that have a primary emphasis in piano or organ and are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year.

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

Students majoring in piano or organ performance. Eligible recipients shall have a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Candidates must be music majors with an emphasis in piano or vocal music who have a GPA of 3.5 or better and who have financial need.

Recipients will be piano students chosen by Music Department faculty members based upon talent and financial need. Student may be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior level.

Support students in the Piano program with tuition, fees, and when applicable, private lessons. Preference for H.S. graduates from Idaho counties: Minidoka, Cassia, Jerome and Twin Falls. Must be admitted to USU. Selection following succesful audition and interview. Must be declared Pre-Music major, music major, with piano emphasis, BM in piano performance, or BA in music degrees.

Support students in the Choral Music program and may be allocated in the form of scholarships toward tuition, student fees, teaching assistantships/fellowships for graduate students and/or required course materials for both undergraduate and graduate students.
