Instrument Lockers

Policies

Please read and be familiar with the Instrument Locker Policies before you reserve an instrument locker.

Instrument Locker Policy Change:
Lockers are now reserved for the length of the academic year (both Fall and Spring semesters). You no longer need to clear out your locker and reserve a new one over winter break.

  • Instrument lockers are intended solely for use by faculty, staff, music majors, students who are registered for Individual Instruction, and students who play in USU Ensembles. Lockers are to be used primarily for instrument and instrument accessory storage. Students may not reserve music lockers for the primary purpose of storing personal belongings.
  • Lockers are reserved for the length of the academic year (both Fall and Spring semesters). Any student who stops using their locker mid-year should report this change to the Music Office so their reservation can be cleared from the system.
  • Lost locker keys will incur a fine of $25.00 to cover the cost of replacing the lock and keys.
  • Students must not place any personal locks on a locker that is not reserved to them through USU ServiceNow. Personal locks may be cut and removed by the Music Office if the use of the locker does not correspond with the reservation record in USU ServiceNow.
  • Personal locks may be cut and removed by the Music Office if the use of the locker violates Instrument Locker Policies.
  • Lockers must be cleaned out by the end of Spring semester unless special permission has been granted. Clean out dates will be posted on lockers and emailed to students’ USU email. After the posted date has passed, personal locks may be cut and removed by the Music Office.
  • The Music Office may remove items from lockers if the use of the locker does not correspond with the reservation record in USU ServiceNow, or if the use of the locker violates Instrument Locker Policies. The Music Office may remove items from lockers if they are not cleaned out by the end of Spring semester. Student belongings will be held in FAC 102 until the student is able to retrieve them. Unclaimed items may be moved to the Lost & Found after 1 month of being held.
  • Any issues related to the locker, lock, or keys should be reported to the Music Office. The Music Department will arrange repairs and maintenance for wear that occurs with standard use of the lockers, locks, and keys. Students will be held responsible if any damage is caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence.

USU is not responsible for instruments or personal belongings that are left unattended in common spaces. Students should reserve an instrument locker to keep their instrument locked and secured.

Report any locker or key issues to the Music Office (FAC 102).
