Observatory

Public Night: Friday, October 16, 2026, from 8-10 p.m.
All are invited to Public Viewing Night at the USU Observatory on Friday, October 16, from 8-10 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

The USU Observatory is located on the roof of the Science Engineering Research (SER) Building on the USU Logan campus.

To reach the observatory, enter the first floor of the SER building and go to the freight elevator at that floor's northwest corner. Note: The observatory telescope is accessible only by stairs from the roof deck.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Public Viewing Night will be cancelled in the event of cloudy or inclement weather. Before arrival on October 16, please check this website for updates. Additional public nights are scheduled for November 6 and December 4.

USU Observatory

Map and Parking

The USU Observatory is located on the roof of the Science Engineering Research (SER) building. To reach the Observatory, enter the first floor of the SER building and go to the freight elevator at that floor's northwest corner. Select "Roof" from the elevator's choice of floors.

Parking for the Observatory is available in the surface lots near Utah State University's Caine Performance Hall, which is located at approximately 1090 East 675 North in Logan. By car, you can access the Caine Performance Hall by turning south from 700 North into the Fine Arts Complex area. Surface parking is adjacent to the Caine Performance Hall.
