David and Terry Peak Outstanding Achievement Award

Undergraduate Graduate

Students in the Department of Physics who demonstrate unusual achievements in teaching, research, and/or service. Students will be required to provide a CV and request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member who can attest to these achievements.

Dr. Howard L. Blood Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors Graduate Need-Based

Undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Physics. Students should be physics majors in good standing entering into their junior or senior year, or students entering or continuing their education in graduate studies. To be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need, and preference will be given to first-generation students.

Graduate student in physics demonstrating academic achievement and financial need.

James E Brown Scholarship

Undergraduate Graduate Need-Based

For Physics students with a 3.5+ GPA, financial need, and an interest in space sciences.

Jan J. Sojka GAS Fellowship

Undergraduate Graduate

Awarded to students on the Get Away Special (GAS) team and is intended to be summer support. Applicants must be on the GAS team, submit a CV, and write a paragraph detailing their proposed summer project and the role they intend to fill on the GAS team. Preference shall be given to undergraduate students.

O. Harry Otteson Scholarship

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors

Undergraduate students who will be juniors or seniors in the Department of Physics during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Recipients will have successfully completed the general physics courses (PHYS 2/310 - PHYS 2/320).

Vincent Wickwar Memorial Endowment

Undergraduate Juniors Seniors

Undergraduate students in the Department of Physics. Qualifying students will be juniors or seniors during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded and must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to applicants studying aeronomy, or to applicants who are interested in photography, optics, hiking, and/or camping.
