Biography
Dr. C.J. Sorenson has more than 20 years of practice experience. He earned a DSW from Tulane University in 2023, an MSW from Brigham Young University in 2007, and a BSW from the University of Utah in 2005. He has worked in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency/crisis settings. He was an Associate Clinical Professor of Social Work at USU from 2012-2024, during which time he served for periods as the BSW Coordinator of Statewide Campuses and as the Director of Field Education. He worked internationally in Frankfurt, Germany from 2024-2026 and returned to USU as an Associate Professor in 2026. He engages in work as a clinical social worker through his private practice in Logan, Utah where he helps individuals and couples build resilience. He served on the executive committee of the National Clinical Social Work Association from 2019-2024. He has presented locally and nationally on various social work topics.
