Emily Hale is the Field and Outreach Coordinator for the Community Justice Advocate (CJA) program within the Transforming Communities Institute (TCI) at Utah State University. She brings five years of experience in survivor advocacy for domestic and sexual violence, working in both the nonprofit sector and, most recently, at Weber State University. Through this work, Emily developed a strong understanding of civil and criminal justice processes, trauma-informed education, and, most importantly, the value of empowering individuals to advocate for themselves in personal and professional settings. Emily is a Credentialed Advocate through the National Advocate Credentialing Program. She holds an MS in Sociology from East Texas A&M University and a BS in Sociology from Brigham Young University, where she minored in Family Life. Her academic work included specialized research in deviance and family violence.
As a first-generation college student, Emily is passionate about the importance of education and advocacy. Outside of work, she enjoys cross-stitching, watching anything by David Lynch, and exploring Salt Lake City with her wife and cats.
