Biography
Krista Duarte is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Social Work at Utah State University. She earned her Master's in Social Work, with an emphasis in Forensic Social Work from the University of Utah in 2014. She completed her BSW (2012) from the University of Alaska, Anchorage; where she also served as a research assistant studying food insecurity and participated in advocacy and policy development supporting the advancement of underserved populations. She is the recipient of the Martin Luther King Leadership in the Community Award for her commitment to the community of Anchorage.
Krista has over a decade of clinical practice experience within a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, including private practice and clinical licensure supervision. Krista has led the delivery of clinical care services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault while guiding the development of mental health programming rooted in trauma-informed care and service delivery. Krista is dedicated to the ongoing support of the implementation of trauma-informed care within community settings and mentoring the next generation of Social Workers.
