Admission Checklist for Bachelor of Science or Arts in Social Work (BSW)
Admissions applications for the USU Bachelor of Science or Arts in Social Work (BSW) program are due March 1 each year. For questions, contact the BSW Program Assistant, Kimball Zent at kimball.zent@usu.edu.
This is NOT the BSW Application
Before beginning the application, please prepare the following:
- Verified you have met the admission requirements as outlined in the general catalog.
- Identified your two preferred campus choices from the available options:
- Blanding
- Brigham City
- Logan (Main Campus)
- Moab
- Nephi
- Price
- Tooele
- Roosevelt/Vernal
- Prepared an updated resume using the provided template. Using this template is required for the application process.
- Transfer Students Only: Prepared unofficial transcripts and compiled contact details for an academic reference.
- Confirm that you have fulfilled admission requirements:
- Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
- Minimum 2.75 GPA in social work classes
- Completion of SW 1010 with B- or better
- Completion of SW 2100 with B- or better
- Completion of SW 2400 with B- or better
- Two BSS courses of the student’s choosing 3 credits each (6 credits total) with C or better
- Completion of BIO 1010 (BLS) or ANTH 1020 (BLS) with C or better
- Completion of ENGL 1010 (CL1) with C or better
- Completion of ENGL 2010 (CL2) with C or better
- Completion of any Quantitative Literacy (QL) course (STAT 1040 or STAT 1045 preferred) with C- or better
- Current USU Students Only: Understand how and plan to take APT the last week of April
