The Theatre Education Minor is specifically designed for students seeking a K-6, 7-12, or K-12 theatre teaching endorsement. This minor is only available to students completing a teaching major (in elementary or secondary education). Space is limited, acceptance is competitive and is not guaranteed. This application is for admission to the Department of Theatre Arts only. Admission to USU requires a separate application.
Supporting Application Materials
- A resume listing your theatre experience and experience working with young students
- A 1-page essay summarizing your reasons for wanting to pursue a Theatre Education minor
- Interview
Once we’ve received both your USU referral and your supporting materials, we may reach out to you to schedule an audition/interview (as appropriate for the area of study).
Please note that, due to the high volume of applications, we cannot interview/audition every applicant. If you are selected for an audition/interview, we will reach out to schedule with you, though it may not be for several weeks after you’ve submitted all of your materials for review. We will also reach out to let you know if your application is declined or the program is full.
