Biography
Dr. Jayne Gold is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Education and Theatre Arts who bridges rigorous scholarship with community-engaged theatre practice. Recent publications include a chapter in Witnessing Change: Applied Theatre and Youth Agency, an article in the International Journal of Heritage Studies, and a forthcoming Routledge monograph on Brecon's 18th- and 19th-century theatre history that recovers women's histories through community-engaged methods.
Jayne trains teachers using inclusive, student-centred pedagogy informed by her extensive experience teaching Drama in London schools and leading creative place-based projects in Wales. She develops future educators who can bridge theory and practice, creating transformative learning experiences that honour diverse voices and ways of knowing. A passionate advocate for theatre as a tool for change, Jayne's applied theatre work spans from theatre for babies to reminiscence work with older adults in memory care.
