Theatre Arts Program

This application process has two steps. Step one: apply to Utah State University. Step two: submit supplimental application materials to the Department of Theatre Arts. Follow the steps outlined below to complete both parts of the application process.

Apply to Utah State University

Before you begin your application to our department, please begin your USU Application. The university provides a comprehensive admissions website offering detailed information on how to apply, housing, financial aid, and other aspects of student life at Utah State.

USU Application Requirements AT-A-GLANCE

  • Application fee (waived for Utah residents)
  • High School transcript
  • Concurrent enrollment transcripts
Minimum Academic Requirements
  • 2.5 high school GPA or 550 GED [unweighted GPA]
  • 17 ACT or 820 SAT (does not include the written portion)
  • 90 minimum Admissions Index score

Incoming Freshmen

To be considered for university financial aid, applications to USU must be submitted before the Financial Aid Deadline for the specific semester.

All Prospective Students

  • We accept applications year-round, but suggest you apply by Dec. 1 for full academic scholarship consideration and due to the competitive nature of acceptance.
  • The USU Department of Theatre Arts requires a minimum GPA of 2.75 (3.0 for BFA Theatre Education), which is higher than the standard USU admission.
