Artist's Statement

My final project is a combination of Cinquain poetry, images and music. The poetry is inspired by American poet Adelaide Crapsey who was the first to write this style. It is a short style but each word must be selected to produce the appropriate impact. In each poem I used words that were part of the lectures, readings, and videos of each module trying to capture the emotion of each topic. I also added factual information boxes to add meaning to each poem. I begin and end the presentation with questions to engage the reader. Hoping to inspire thoughts of action as this presentation is viewed. New age music was added to contribute to the overall mood of the presentation.
