Artist's Statement

For our final project we decided to create a video that is formatted similar to that of a talk show. Our motivation for the piece is the idea to educate people by entertaining them, as theatre students it is our biggest goal to entertain. We wanted to create the impression that the audience was hearing from the aspects of our world that are most impacted by climate change.

Our process of creating this project began with discussing the format and points we wanted to hit in our video. After creating specific questions we wanted answered we then proceeded to assign one another specific roles to take on. After this we went our separate ways and researched the topic we were given and answered the questions with that research. After this, we made our videos and sent them in to be edited and put together to create a talk show.

Overall we hope that this will provide a new perspective to the masses in regard to climate change and the far-reaching effects it can have. Theatre often takes on controversial topics in an entertaining yet informative way and this is our desire. We strove to entertain our audience, educate them on the problems, and express possible solutions and actions that can be taken to help our world in trouble.
