Artist's Statement

For our final project, we chose a large-scale mural capturing the contrast between sustainable living versus unsustainable living on our own campus at Utah State. The mural is made up of two 4x8 wood panels that combine to create an 8x8 foot surface. We tried to use sustainable materials by getting paint from the dump and returning it when we were finished so others could use it as well. Along with that, we used organic and recycled materials to contribute to the details of our mural. We highlighted different resources for sustainability around campus such as Aggie Blue Bikes and the SNAC Pantry. Our goal in creating this mural was to promote motivation, in ourselves and others, to be involved in the programs that already exist on campus. As well as make changes necessary to promote sustainable-living as college students here at Utah State.
