Artist's Statement

I was able to go on a trip with my friends where we were able to snorkel and see some incredible coral reefs off the coast of Florida. That experience has still inspired me. Seeing the countless varieties of fish and sea life in such a short time has stuck with me. With this experience and learning of the crucial need for healthy sea life, I wanted to make a piece that highlighted that beauty. I sought to use bright colors and a variety of shapes to demonstrate what I was lucky enough to experience and hope many others in the future will be able to as well.
