Change
This multimodal poem tells the story of the Earth’s decline and the conflicts that plague its rehabilitation. As the poem is read, the viewer experiences watching the drawing come to life, finally viewing the planet grasped in a claw-like hand as wine—in which the earth ferments—spills out of the too-full glass, unable to contain its contents anymore. The hand, along with the glass, are dissolving at the edges, destroying themselves simultaneously, perhaps unknowingly. This piece is meant to represent the unnatural hand that each person has in causing damage to the planet’s ecosystem, as well as bring awareness to how each individual can either continue to harm or bring life back into the Earth’s delicate balance. In other words, we all hold the world in our hands.
