A Future Trip to the Zoo

I decided to write a children’s book about a little girl, Sally, who visits the zoo with her mom in a futuristic world. This book highlights the devastating impacts of climate change on the animal kingdom and wildlife on earth. I think that a children’s book is a succinct way to present the reality of a situation in an easily comprehensible message. This story demonstrates the reality of climate change and what it can do to our planet and our animals, and presents a clear message that we have to start taking action to combat climate change immediately to avoid the world of Sally and her mom. While the complete extinction of animals may seem extreme, it is my thought that a strong image is needed to drive home the message that climate change is serious and it’s happening right now, and it is up to our generation and our youth to figure out how we are going to prevent the worst consequences of climate change.
