Earth Reborn

This piece was made with old magazines through a process called collaging. Collaging is a way to up-cycle magazines into surreal and interesting art. I chose this process because I wanted to show how easy it is to create with old things. As I have discovered and learned more and more about consumer habits vs what the earth can provide, I have begun to slowly change my thought process when choosing products and lifestyle. I ask questions such as "how long will this product be used for vs how long it will last for?", "how was this product created", "how did it get here and where will it end up when I am done with it" I recently heard someone say "Every time you scan a barcode, you are voting for what you want" If each person started asking these questions and considering how their choices have an impact, I believe we can change to more earth friendly consumer habits. I chose the scenery to represent the beauty of our earth that has been impacted by humans. I believe that whether we (humans) change or not, earth will clean house and become reborn. We can either help and be there to see the wonders of a new era, or we can be swept out like dirt so that earth can become her best self again.
